Making Progress

Before

This cupboard's not too terribly bad.  As we get cleaning, we bring cleaning supplies down from the laundry room upstairs.  Instead of running them back upstairs, we put them in this cupboard.  Thus the reason for the overcrowding on the middle shelf.

After
I think I'd like to get a small basket to hold the cloths.

Here's what I see for the future of this cupboard....The same thing as the past.  As for me, I value the empty spaces, but I just don't know how I'm going to get eight other people on board.  I can see any given child bringing down the Pledge and putting it in this cupboard instead of running it back upstairs.  Anybody have any tricks on this one?  I'd love to have them put it back, but I'm not able to police all of them at all times.

That cupboard was a breeze, so I moved to the next one....
Before
This is THE most used cupboard in the house.

in process
We got it cleaned out, #3 helped me--she could reach the stuff on the top shelf that I couldn't.  She wiped the shelves down, and I got to work organizing.  I have two little lazy Susans that I use for my spices--one for baking, one for cooking.  I love them.  They're great for creating space and the ability to reach everything.  Can you see that once upon a time I really was organized?  Really, I was.

This cupboard is done, but we ran off to our Friday night fun, so I didn't get the after picture taken.  I'll do it this morning.  It's better, but it's just a busy cupboard; that's all there is to it.

This is today's project.  This is the most used cupboard by the kids.  DISASTER!

Once upon a time, the shelves were all labeled--"breakfast," "lunch," "dinner," "snacks."  Oh, and when I have it, the Nutella has it's own little hiding spot in the very back of the top shelf so that I have to climb on a chair to get it.

You can see the lunch list on the door to the right.  #5 has to give a how-to speech in his class, so he's going to take the list and a bunch of lunch making supplies and show the kids how he makes his lunch.  Pretty funny.

So, there you have it.  My work is cut out for me.

Hopeful to hit the temple today also.  I'd better get moving.

Finally, here's the after picture...

I had to laugh when I saw your post. Yesterday I cleaned out and re-arranged all my kitchen cabinets too. They look wonderful, Julie!

I just keep multiple sets of cleaning supplies- one in each of the areas where they are needed. I have found it is just easier for each bathroom to keep it's own bottle of toilet cleaner, Windex and so forth- especially since one is downstairs etc... then I am not dealing with where they are or did they get put back in a central location or not
