You've probably noticed that I haven't been writing on a consistent basis. If you haven't, well, I haven't. I'm struggling with finding appropriate things to write about. Not that I'm thinking of inappropriate things to write about, but after I have to delete a post, which has only happened a couple of times, I have a hard time getting back on board and writing from my heart. I guess I kind of feel like this is MY spot to write, and I should be allowed to write whatever I want to, right?
I mean, the post I deleted was not a bad post. Actually, it was a good post, maybe even one of my best with very valid points to it. To protect someone, I deleted it. When really there was no threat to that person, but a person's perception is their reality, and just by writing this, I'm going to be in the doghouse again. Should I care? Probably not, but I do. Has this experience changed my feelings about things and people, yes. I've tried for it not to, but it has, and I'm still working on that.
To me, the underlying message I wrote about was important. It should have been left to stand just for the fact that it was something that needed to be said.
Blogging is a tricky thing. Now, I feel like I should wear a shirt that says, "Warning: I am a blogger....Be careful what you say to me." I don't want to put anybody into that situation.
I once saw a blog where the author had written something about how the blog was like her personal space, like her bedroom, and in her bedroom, she's allowed to say whatever she wants.
I feel that I have a good heart and that I'm totally not out to make anyone angry. I'm not going to name people unless I have someone's permission to do so.
Anyway, I need to get over this. I need to feel safe to write again without feeling that I'm going to be disturbing somebody's life. I've been wanting to rewrite that post, but I can't find that angle. The message was so important that I know I have to. I just haven't been able to yet.
I've got to get back on board. Life is just easier to handle when I can write about it.
Would you like to translate this into another language?

Could We Be onto Something?
I received a message from a friend on Facebook yesterday asking me if a camera had been stolen when my car was broken into last spring. She told me that one of the news stations here locally had two cameras that they were looking for the owners of. Here's the story for you.
Sounds very similar to what happened to me, but it also sounds like this guy's been in jail, or at least was in jail at one point. I know there could be many, many people who fit this job description, but maybe there's a link somehow.
It was refreshing that the sheriff's offce was concerned enough about reuniting the family's to their photos to do something about it.

Dinner Talk
As we sat at dinner tonight, we asked the following questions:
During Family Home Evening tonight, the Warden asked us all to share who we were most looking forward to hearing speak at General Conference this weekend and why.
- What was the low point of your day?
- What was the high point of your day?
- Who was your hero today? (The only rule is that you can't be your own hero).

It made for some pretty fun conversation. We learned, though, that we need to set a timer or something and either cut people off when they've talked to long, or insist those that don't talk enough to fill the time. It's funny how our kids are--some are real talkers (...I know what you're thinking, but I'm sure I have no idea who they take after) and others are kind of quiet observers.
Here are my low, high and hero for today....

Low point--receiving software that was intended for Windows when I had ordered it for a Mac. After waiting so long, that was very disappointing, but it all got ironed out, and by evening, that guy I live with who sometimes dons his armor and mounts his stallion, had the correct software for me. YAY!
High point - being able to find childcare for #7 for one day a week, so I can go volunteer up at the elementary school.
Hero - Had I been thinking, I would have said that I had two heroes--that guy on the horse AND my friend who will be watching #7, but I only mentioned her.

How nice to have a day full of heroes!

Of course, no one will be surprised to know that one of mine (I had two) was Jeffrey R. Holland just for the fact that we share initials (If you don't have any clue what I'm talking about, here's a link for you). Ugh!
